Clinic Policies & Patient Information
Exceptional care begins with clear communication.
At The Menopause Practice, we are committed to providing compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based healthcare in a welcoming and supportive environment.
We believe that every human deserves to feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey. Our clinic policies are designed to ensure that each client receives the time, attention, and quality of care they deserves, while allowing our team to provide timely and efficient service to everyone.
We kindly ask that you review the following policies before your appointment.
Deposits & Payment Policy
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your initial consultation.
The remaining balance is payable at your Nurse Practitioner appointment.
The Menopause Practice is a private healthcare clinic, and our consultation fees are not covered by Manitoba Health.
We accept payment by credit card, debit card, or cash.
Some extended health insurance plans may provide reimbursement for eligible services. We are happy to provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance provider. Coverage varies by plan, and clients are responsible for confirming eligibility directly with their insurer.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise and appointments sometimes need to be changed.
To respect the time of our healthcare professionals and other clients waiting for appointments, we require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to the full appointment fee.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Providing adequate notice allows us to offer appointment times to other women who are waiting for care.
If you need to change your appointment, please contact our office as soon as possible.
Missed Appointments & Late Arrivals
We reserve dedicated time for every client to ensure a thorough and meaningful healthcare experience.
If you are running late, please contact our office as soon as possible.
Depending on your arrival time and your practitioner’s schedule, your appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled. The full appointment fee may still apply.
Appointments missed without notice may be subject to the full appointment fee.
We appreciate your consideration in helping our clinic run efficiently and ensuring that all clients receive the care and attention they deserve.
Intake Forms & Appointment Preparation
Before your initial appointment, you will receive important intake and consent forms.
We ask that these forms be completed before your scheduled visit so that our clinical team can review the information and make the most of your consultation time.
Please have an up-to-date list of your current medications, supplements, and relevant medical history available for your appointment.
If your appointment is virtual, please ensure that you are in a quiet, private location where you can comfortably discuss your health concerns.
Laboratory Testing & Results
Laboratory testing is often an important component of your menopause and hormonal health assessment.
Your Nurse Practitioner will determine which tests are clinically appropriate based on your individual health history, symptoms, and medical needs.
Medically necessary laboratory testing ordered through the Manitoba healthcare system is generally covered by Manitoba Health for eligible patients.
We recommend completing requested laboratory testing promptly to avoid delays in your care.
Results are reviewed by your Nurse Practitioner and discussed during your scheduled consultation or follow-up appointment.
Please note that receiving laboratory results does not replace a consultation with your healthcare provider. Interpretation and treatment recommendations require consideration of your complete clinical picture.
Prescription Refill & Medication Management
Your safety and continuity of care are important to us.
Prescription renewals are completed during your scheduled appointment.
The Menopause Practice does not process pharmacy fax refill requests outside of a scheduled appointment.
Medication changes, new prescriptions, or concerns requiring a clinical assessment require a scheduled appointment.
Virtual Appointments
We offer virtual appointments for clients living in Manitoba and Ontario, allowing you to access specialized menopause care conveniently and comfortably.
Please be available at your scheduled time and choose a private, quiet location with a reliable telephone or internet connection.
Some health concerns may require an in-person appointment or physical assessment. Our clinical team will advise you when this is necessary.
Our Commitment to You
At The Menopause Practice, we recognize that every woman’s menopause experience is unique.
Our goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care in an environment where your concerns are taken seriously, your questions are welcomed, and your health is our priority.
We are committed to open communication, professional integrity, and collaborative care. In return, we ask that all clients treat our practitioners, staff, and fellow clients with kindness and respect.
Your health matters. Your experience matters. You deserve to be heard.
The Menopause Practice is not an emergency or urgent care facility. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department.
